A more sustainable future

Mercator was created with a strong belief that travel is the best means to understand the planet, thereby acquiring an even greater respect for the world around us. But recently, we’ve become increasingly concerned about contributing to an industry that’s responsible for around eight per cent of the world’s global greenhouse gas emissions. 

By working in an industry that encourages frequent flights and environmentally damaging properties, we feel we’ve become complicit in the climate crisis. That’s why, at the end of 2019, we made the decision to only take on clients who share our belief in the need for change within the industry and who can demonstrate clear and focused steps towards a more sustainable future. We still believe that experiencing the world first-hand is one of the most powerful motivators for saving it – as long as we make considered and informed travel choices.
